Gold Coast businesses have been doing it tough throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, which is why the federal government is committed to ensuring a strong recovery. Since the pandemic struck, the Federal Government responded with almost $30 billion in support measures for Queensland and the Gold Coast. This included JobKeeper 1.0 and 2.0, the Instant Asset Write-Off, tax cuts, loss carry-back measure and tailored industry packages across tourism, aviation, events, the Arts, zoos and aquariums. For more information visit Business Support or call the federal government’s business helpline on 13 28 46.
While many businesses have been adversely affected by COVID-19, there are some areas of the economy which have an increased demand for new employees. This includes the healthcare sector, transport and logistics, some areas of retail, mining and mining services, manufacturing, agriculture, and government sectors.
