$90,000 to complete Compassion Project in Southport
14 March 2025
The Albanese Labor Government’s funding cut agenda is crippling Gold Coast faith groups, community organisations, not-for-profits and small businesses.
The Cross Life Baptist Church’s Compassion Project in Southport will transform the venue to assist those in our community who are disadvantaged and doing it tough – especially in this current cost of living crisis.
The Compassion Centre included an expansion of their food pantry, a community courtyard, coffee cart, counselling rooms and a community op shop.
The completion of this project relies on funds for the accompanying playground and shade sails and Federal Member of Moncrieff, Angie Bell, has fought hard to secure a commitment of $90,000 to see out the project’s completion.
“If a Coalition Government is elected, Cross Life Baptist Church will finally have the required funds to deliver this project in its entirety,” Ms Bell said.
“This project will benefit the entire Southport community, including those who need it most, providing a much-needed safe and welcoming space for all.
“By securing these funds as a federal election commitment, it shows our dedication and passion for supporting local communities that have been neglected under this Labor Government.”
Only a Dutton Government has the right priorities to get Australia Back on Track.
