Gold Coast Tech Ecosystem Accelerates
26 Oct | '2020
On the Gold Coast, as our tech ecosystem accelerates, more of the people enjoying the morning wave with you will be getting ready for a day of coding or software marketing.
Local tech innovation points to an even brighter future for the Gold Coast.
Last week at the Gold Coast Health and Knowledge Precinct, I visited two great examples of the Gold Coast tech sector.
From the Morrison Government, the CoHort Space has received an Incubator Support Grant of $150,000 to develop and deliver their “LuminaX: health and wellness start-ups accelerator”. This is the first such specialised accelerator program on the Gold Coast. With this program, Ben Howe and Dren Xerxa from CoHort are helping build the Gold Coast tech ecosystem. The project will validate and commercialise up to 10 internationally oriented start-ups that will have access to hospitals and laboratories, connections to health industry leaders, mentoring, and international market access and connections. The project will leverage existing resources in the Gold Coast Health and Knowledge Precinct. The Morrison Government is backing the Gold Coast tech ecosystem
Based at Cohort already are health AI businesses like public-private partnership, Datarwe an acute care medical research data platform-as-a-service.
Thankyou to Dr Kelvin Ross, Dr Sephanie Chaousis, and Dr Brent Richards for your insights when I visited last week and congratulations to you and your team on innovation that will translate to better health outcomes for patients.
