NO ONE POINTERS HERE, ONLY GOALS FOR THE CATS UNDER AN LNP GOVERNMENT
The Broadbeach Cats AFL club has a thriving female program across all ages. However, their current changeroom facilities are outdated and no longer fit-for-purpose.
Federal LNP Member for Moncrieff, Angie Bell MP, said, “The Broadbeach AFL club has seen participation numbers skyrocket, and the female changerooms are well overdue for an upgrade.”
“If elected, the LNP will provide a critical $1.3 million changeroom facility upgrade that will ensure the future success of the Broadbeach Cats and will greatly enhance the experience of players, spectators and anyone who uses the grounds regularly.
“It’s all part of the LNP’s plan to strengthen our local communities, give back to our grassroots sporting organisations and get Australia back on track.”
Broadbeach Cats President, Andrew Covino said this funding will greatly benefit the club’s current playing group and help attract new players to the club.
“Our club is the second-largest junior AFL club in Queensland by participation and has seen significant growth with women and girls – a trend not uncommon to the Gold Coast.
“With AFLW and women’s sports being deservingly thrust further into the spotlight, it’s only natural to see such tremendous growth and increases in participation, but that sort of growth can’t take place without having adequate facilities to accommodate it.
“That is why this funding commitment from Angie Bell and the LNP is so important to the future success of our club.”
This commitment is part of the LNP plan to strengthen our local communities and to get Australia back on track. To read more about our plan, visit https://online.lnp.org.au/get-australia-back-on-track.
