Coalition invests in Gold Coast community safety

Gold Coasters deserve to feel safe and be safe in their home and within the local community.
Only a Dutton-led Coalition government will get Australia back on track by tackling crime and making our communities safer.
True to the Coalition’s values and commitment to community safety, Federal Member for Moncrieff, Angie Bell, has announced $15,000 in funding for the Nerang Girl Guides to construct a new perimeter fence to secure their premises.
“I was devasted to hear that Nerang Girl Guides has experienced several break ins, along with vandalism and illegal dumping due to not having a secure perimeter fence,” Ms Bell said.
“The young women and girls at Nerang Girl Guides deserve safe and secure facilities so they can continue to discover their full potential as our future leaders in a fun-filled and exciting environment without fear of break ins and vandalism.
“Keeping our community and all Australians safe is the first responsibility of governments, that’s why I’ve fought hard to secure this funding commitment and will deliver if a Coalition government is elected.”
This commitment is just one of many community safety pledges from the Coalition ahead of the federal election.
A Dutton-led Coalition government will also deliver an additional $7.5 million in funding over three years to Crime Stoppers, one of Australia’s most respected crime fighting organisations.
This support for Crime Stoppers will allow for an expansion in operations to keep our communities safe.
“Unfortunately, we’ve seen crime spread across our city and Australia more broadly,” Ms Bell said.
“We’ve also seen disturbing instances of hate, antisemitism and extremism spiral out of control.”
“The Labor Government has been weak and incompetent on crime and community safety.”
Only the Coalition will keep the community safe and get Australia Back on Track.
