LNP GOVERNMENT TO PROVIDE FUNDING FOR SOUTHPORT PONY AND HACK CLUB
A Dutton LNP Government will provide $235,000 to upgrade the facilities at the Southport Pony and Hack Club.
The iconic club hosts several equine events in Southport including agistment overflow for the Magic Millions – an event that generates great economic benefit for the Gold Coast region.
Federal Member for Moncrieff, Angie Bell MP, said current facilities are no longer safe to use and the Southport Pony and Hack Club deserves better.
“Labor’s blatant neglect of the Gold Coast means so many in our community are suffering as a result – it is simply unacceptable,” Ms Bell said.
“If elected, the LNP will provide $235,000 for much-needed upgrades to the club’s onsite amenities.
“This is an important upgrade that will ensure the future success of the Southport Pony and Hack Club and equestrian sports across the Gold Coast.”
The Southport Pony and Hack Club’s Brigitte Bennett said this support from the LNP and Angie Bell will provide immense value to the club and broader community.
“Angie is a wonderful community advocate and has again pushed hard to achieve this funding commitment for us,” Ms Bennett said.
“This amenities upgrade is long overdue and will ensure our facilities are fit for purpose, safe and accessible for children, women and girls at our club.”
This commitment is part of the LNP plan to strengthen our local communities and to get Australia back on track. To read more about our plan, visit https://online.lnp.org.au/get-australia-back-on-track.
