2021 has been a challenging year for many Madam DS. I take this opportunity in the last sitting week of 2021 to wish all in my electorate of Moncrieff, a Happy Christmas and a bigger, better and safer new year in 2022. Its Queenslanders who have done the heavy lifting to reach almost 80% double vaccinated. This means domestic borders are due to reopen so that families in Moncrieff can reunite with loved ones who may be interstate.
The Gold Coast economy can now reignite and business can do what it does best and tourism and small business can start the journey out of the pandemic.
To the Moncrieff Community Cabinet, thank you for your work in our community. To the Gold Coasts only cross-industry think tank working for the future of jobs, skills and industry, the CHT executive members-I thank you, for your dedication and wish you and your families all the best. Congratulations to Alfred Slogrove CEO of Study Gold Coast and wife Katia for your new baby Allegra and congratulations to Adrienne Readings for her elevation to Chair of Destination Gold Coast. Thanks to [Emeritus Professor]Ned Pankhurst and [Southport Chamber of Commerce President]Ian Kennedy for their service on the CHT and to [retiring Chair of DGC] Paul Donovan for his 17 years of service to Tourism on the Gold Coast.
