Prime Minister in Moncrieff Supporting Manufacturing

The Prime Minister Scott Morrison and local member Angie Bell visited local Gold Coast manufacturers including Minerals Technologies at Carrara to discuss the Government’s Modern Manufacturing Strategy. Manufacturing adds $7 billion and 14,000 jobs to the Gold Coast economy. The Morrison Government is investing $1.5bn over the next four years to assist Australian manufacturing, and Gold Coast business will benefit through competitiveness. Through the strategy we are backing ‘Made in Australia’.

The Strategy builds on Australia’s strengths and will ensure manufacturing plays an even greater role in our recover. The Budget includes an investment of $1.5 billion over four years to allow Australian manufacturers to scale up, compete internationally and create more jobs

Our Strategy will target six national manufacturing priorities:

• Medical products
• Food and beverage
• Resources technology and critical minerals processing
• Recycling and clean energy
• Defence industry
• Space industry
